It's Part 1 of the Excelsior Journeys 5-part miniseries celebrating the 35th anniversary of TransFormers: The Movie, and it all starts with two major reasons why this animated film endures today: screenwriter Ron Friedman and story consultant Flint Dille. Both sat down with host & producer George Sirois and talked about how Hasbro gave the directive to kill so many characters from the '84 line - including the beloved Optimus Prime - to make way for the '86 line, how the violence (and one carefully inserted dirty word) accomplished Sunbow's mission to make the movie PG, and much more!
